Print a familiar poem onto thin cardboard and cut out the individual words. Scatter the words around and have fun putting your poem back together. (For a favourite poem, you might like to glue magnetic strips behind each card and play "Puzzled Poetry" on your refrigerator!)

For younger children, have the complete poem available so that your child can construct his poem by matching. You may want to simplify the activity further by isolating lines rather than individual words.
